"Seeing the world with a different eye"
In a world where new images and impressions pour in each day, we may feel we've seen it all. Yet for a deeper understanding of ourselves and others, we do need fresh eyes, so to speak, vision that breaks through the stereotypes. In this interview Toshiko Morikawa talks about the role spiritual vision has played in her life and in her long career as a journalist in Japan.
What is it like for a Japanese to be a Christian in your country?
Christians—Protestants and Catholics combined—are about 1 percent of the Japanese population. So Christianity itself is certainly a minority here. Most people are not that familiar with the Bible, but it's interesting that many of our writes and novelists have been Christians.
