Is my career at risk? Or governed by God?
There may be times when we feel we are the victims of circumstances beyond our control. But no matter what the situation, we can prove that God governs our careers.
Several years ago, soon after I declined a glamorous-sounding promotion involving international travel, management pressured me into accepting a promotion that I strongly felt was not suitable for me.
Prior to this, I had been praying about my career, affirming God's government, His direction, control, and protection of every step. And now here I was, in a new position against my better judgment!
Perhaps you've been in a similar situation. Or maybe you've lost your job through no apparent fault of your own. (I've been there, too.) Are our careers vulnerable—subject to manipulation, obstruction, limitation, sabotage? At the mercy of volatile economic and political factors? Are we simply helpless pawns, unable to control our own destinies?
