As we read in II Corinthians, "Thanks be unto God for his unspeakable gift." For the healings, guidance, protection, and supply that have come to me through my study of Christian Science, I am indeed grateful. I am especially grateful to have been raised in Christian Science.
Several years ago I had a growth on my face. I requested prayerful help from a Christian Science practitioner. I endeavored to understand better the truth that God created man to express His perfection, as I had learned through my study of Christian Science. I also tried to express more joy.
At a Wednesday evening testimony meeting at my branch church, several testimonies were given that were especially helpful. I decided to stay home from work the next two days and study the Bible and Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. The following statements from the Bible were particularly helpful: "Then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot" (Job) and "The word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" (Hebrews). I also read many testimonies in the Sentinel. They brought me the assurance that just as God had healed all those testifiers through Christian Science, so I could be healed also.
