The day when a good friend (my future husband) introduced me to Christian Science, explained a few points about it, and lent me a copy of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, was for me a turning point indeed. Thus began a satisfying and rewarding journey in seeking and finding a better understanding of God and my relationship to Him. I was in my late teens at the time. I am happy to testify now that the study of the Bible, along with Science and Health, has brought spiritual enlightenment and countless blessings to my life over many years.

One healing I had as a very new student occurred early in our marriage. Eczema developed on one of my hands when my husband was overseas in the service and I had our infant daughter to care for. I was studying and praying to help myself, but the difficulty persisted and spread to cover both hands and wrists.

My family, who were not Christian Scientists and who were very concerned, persuaded me to seek medical treatment. The doctor who examined me stated that this was the worst case of eczema he had ever seen. Treatment was begun, but it was ineffective. After about a month I knew that I really wanted to take my stand for healing in Christian Science. The medical treatment was terminated.
