I submit this testimony with great gratitude for a special healing and also for many proofs, during more than forty years, that God is the one great Physician. Each healing has left me with a sense of joy at having overcome another lie or misconception about man's real nature as God's perfect expression.

We summer at a spot up in the Colorado mountains. In the summer of 1983 we stayed much later than usual—into the fall. A few holes into our last game of golf for the season with some friends, I began having very strong chest pains and other severe symptoms. My husband quickly realized I was having difficulty and informed the others that I needed to rest. (I did not play the rest of the game, but instead remained quiet so as not to alarm anyone.) I began immediately to handle fear through prayer. Soon there was spasmodic relief, but the symptoms persisted.

At the end of the game we returned to the resort, where I continued to pray. At my request, my husband went up the road and called a Christian Science practitioner, who lovingly agreed to take up the metaphysical work. Some relief came almost at once. The two days following were spent in persistent prayer.
