Over the years I have been helped in so many ways by reading the Christian Science periodicals that I feel impelled to share some of my own blessings.

I attended a Christian Science Sunday School from a very young age. But I didn't begin to make the effort to practice Christian Science until much later, after I had entered military service and was married. Through my twenty years of military service my family and I had many proofs of God's provision and protection. When I was away on duty and the children had problems, my wife often called a Christian Science practitioner to pray for them. Our needs were met through prayer in Christian Science.

Two experiences I have had are of special significance to me. While I was stationed temporarily in England, one of my arms was broken—shattered at the elbow. I was taken to a military hospital, X-rayed, and told that an operation would be necessary or the use of my arm would be restricted. I declined the operation, which would have left the arm about an inch shorter than normal. I then called a Christian Science practitioner for help through prayer, and this was lovingly given. With my arm in a sling, I took two weeks' leave from duty to work out the problem. I was able to perform my duties after returning from leave, although the complete healing came gradually. When it did come, my arm was entirely normal.
