This fiery furnace,Fueled by lies of dissatisfaction, covetousness, pain, fear,Has lost its power to alarm me.Like those three Hebrew men—Shadrach, Meshach,And Abednego—I now know I am not alone.

"The form of the fourth" is with me, too—The Son of God, the Christ, the healing Truth.Midst odorless smoke, unsingeing fire, ephemeral ash of envy,I see myself as servant of the most high God,Feel only the warmth of His cleansing love,Not fearsome heat of fire.
