Healing and the worship of God
For the Christian Scientist, healing is worship of God. Healing and worship cannot be separated. Healing through prayer comes as the natural fruitage of understanding God and glorifying Him for His all-power and ineffable goodness.
When healing stems from the prayer of absolute reliance on God, based on an understanding of His nature, it bears witness to the presence and power, the goodness and availability, of divine Love. It fulfills the instruction of Paul the Apostle who said, "Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's."I Cor. 6:20.
Repeatedly Christ Jesus emphasized that his healing work gave evidence of the ever-available love of his heavenly Father. He made plain that the Father was the source of his healing power. Sometimes the people he healed got the point.
