The demand for sacrifice

The Bible is full of references to God's demand for sacrifice. One might suppose that God is a wrathful deity who, angered by the sins of men, has to be appeased. Yet rising perception reveals God as Love, demanding that sin itself be sacrificed.

The Apostle Paul wrote, "Present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service." Rom. 12:1; The New English Bible translates this: "Offer your very selves to him: a living sacrifice, dedicated and fit for his acceptance, the worship offered by mind and heart."
