Our decisions—are they God-impelled?

Decisions According to Mind

Sometimes decision-making can seem complex. We may reason carefully, logically, and yet remain indecisive. Or jump to conclusions, only to regret our impulsiveness. But instead of reasoning humanly we can turn to ever-present God, the all-knowing Mind. Mind gives us the ideas we need and the wisdom to utilize these ideas advantageously and joyously.

In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy declares, "Your decisions will master you, whichever direction they take." Science and Health, p. 392; Years ago a choice confronted me: Should I try Christian Science to improve my health? I did, and that decision was right. Soon, however, my integrity, stability, and understanding were tried.

My son, a first-grader at the time, awakened one morning in great pain, his arm swollen. An immediate decision was necessary. Should I rely on material medicine or Christian Science treatment? Human law permitted either course, but I was uncertain and frustrated. Then temptation suggested a way out of the dilemma: "Let your husband assume the responsibility of making the decision." I called his office and described the condition, ending with, "What do you suggest?" He replied, "If you have more faith in men than you have in God, call a doctor at once."
