I know of the goodness of God through many proofs of the power of Christian Science throughout my life.

I owe much gratitude to my mother, who was a firm supporter of Christian Science from the time I was healed of double pneumonia when an infant. A physician had said that I could not live more than an hour. My mother turned away from the medical verdict, saying she would rely on Christian Science. She had been studying only a short time, but solely through her understanding and reliance on God, I was healed.

During my "growing up" period I saw many more proofs of God's power. I shall never forget the time when my mother was called to a neighbor's home in the middle of the night to help a little child who seemed to be passing on. The neighbor did not know what Christian Science was, but in her great need turned to my mother for help. As there was no one to stay with me, I was taken along to the neighbor's home and put to bed there. In the morning when I awakened, the child was completely healed. This healing made a great impression on me at my early age.
