Shyness Can Be Healed

Christian Science can destroy shyness and its painful fear and awkwardness. The same omnipotent spiritual law that silences disease or the false attraction of sensuality can eliminate confused, self-centered thinking. It can reveal man's real spiritual selfhood poised within the restful stillness of divine Mind's allness.

Fearful uncertainty, sensitiveness, preoccupation with what we imagine others are thinking about us, are all part of the false dreamworld that Christian Science has come to expose as an illusion. These troublesome impostors will disappear from our experience as we strive to become God-conscious instead of matter-conscious, as we learn to commune with loving Mind humbly and earnestly, and spend less time ruminating about human personalities and opinions.

Mrs. Eddy writes in Miscellaneous Writings: "Every human thought must turn instinctively to the divine Mind as its sole centre and intelligence. Until this be done, man will never be found harmonious and immortal." Mis., pp. 307, 308; Further on, she says, "I earnestly advise all Christian Scientists to remove from their observation or study the personal sense of any one, and not to dwell in thought upon their own or others' corporeality, either as good or evil." pp. 308,309;
