As Truth unfolds to my consciousness, I become increasingly grateful for Christian Science and more deeply appreciative of the love and faithfulness which our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, expressed and which enabled her to follow so closely in the way Jesus pointed out.

Over thirteen years ago, I was healed of a complication of organic and functional diseases which several eminent specialists said could be relieved only through an operation. Accepting these verdicts, I believed myself condemned to a life of semi-invalidism.

While a loved one was recovering from an operation, the results of which held no hope of permanent recovery, I was asked if, for this one's sake, I would read some Christian Science literature to him. I consented, even though I was opposed to what I believed this teaching to be. Two copies of The Christian Science Journal and the Sentinel were brought, and I sat each day during visiting hours in the hospital, reading to the patient. To me, it was the most wonderful reading I had ever known. I had been a Bible student for years, and this new teaching threw such light on the Bible that I just rejoiced. I was doing this reading with absolutely no thought of a healing for myself, but in about three days I was completely healed. I suddenly became aware that I was entirely at ease, while before I had been in constant pain. From that day, my four children and I have found the truth, as revealed in Christian Science, sufficient to meet every need.
