old year has passed, with its record of stirring events, its reports of startling and significant happenings, its tidings of war and commotion amongst nations.

promise from God, speaking through the prophet Isaiah, has been of inestimable value to countless seekers who are striving to follow the guidance of Truth: "Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Jesus
of Nazareth concluded the masterly exposition of his doctrine known as the Sermon on the Mount as follows: "Whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
In Christ Jesus
' prophecy of wars and uprisings, he foretold the abrogation of individual rights which accompanies attacks by the seeming forces of evil.
We
are pleased to present with this issue the new small size Christian Science Sentinel which was announced at the Annual Meeting in June, 1941.

For many years I have desired to express my gratitude to God for showing us, through Mary Baker Eddy's spiritual revelation, the way in Christian Science.
As Truth unfolds to my consciousness, I become increasingly grateful for Christian Science and more deeply appreciative of the love and faithfulness which our dear Leader, Mrs.

The first healing through Christian Science which I witnessed was that of our twelve-year-old daughter.
Having had numerous healings through the power of Truth during the past sixteen years, I am impelled to add my testimony to the ever-growing list of healings accomplished through this divine method of healing.
I took up the study of Christian Science purely for physical healing.
Christian Science came into our home when I was a small child, and I had the privilege of attending Sunday school.
