For all that Christian Science has brought into my life I am indeed grateful. From childhood I had been a great sufferer from bronchial asthma and during many years had been under the care of several doctors, but in spite of the most careful attention all failed to bring about my healing. I also tried homeopathy but this form of treatment also failed me and every severe attack ended with an injection of morphia, which left me exhausted and hopeless. In my extremity a dear friend told me about Christian Science, which gave me hope at once. After reading the copy of the Sentinel which my friend brought, I was much interested and longed to know more. I then borrowed a copy of the textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mrs. Eddy, and soon realized that it is the teaching of Jesus the Christ.

After a few weeks of careful reading I was ready to rely solely on God for my healing. This was many years ago and no material medicine of any description has been used since then. I rejoice to state that I am now perfectly strong and healthy, free from the bondage of diet, damp air, et cetera, and live a very active life. Sometimes discouragement would creep in, as my healing did not come quickly, but with the loving help of a practitioner the attacks were very quickly overcome, and gradually the fear, which is the foundation of every disease, was destroyed. I had also been subject to severe attacks of lumbago, but only once since I began the study of Christian Science has an attack come on, and in a few hours, through the realization of the truth as taught in Christian Science, it disappeared. Divine Love has been my only physician for every discordant condition for a number of years. I am also deeply grateful for a better understanding of God as divine Love, and I know that when His law is relied upon it never fails.

I am also grateful for our periodicals, which come to us from time to time with their healing messages. Words fail to express my gratitude to God for the glorious message of truth revealed to Mrs. Eddy, who by the pureness of her life was enabled to receive the revelation which makes us free. May my gratitude be shown in the reflection of more and more of the Christ, thus helping my fellow creatures.
