The impulse to express gratitude through our periodicals...

The impulse to express gratitude through our periodicals is often quieted by the suggestion to wait for a more convenient time, thus expressing ingratitude, the very opposite of our real desire. My interest in Christian Science was aroused several years ago when I was reading aloud to my mother from "Miscellaneous Writings" by Mary Baker Eddy. Therein I found a satisfactory explanation of God, and the scientific rule of healing, which I have never since doubted.

In a short time after beginning the study of the Bible and "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy, I was healed of an inactive liver and of headaches, and was able to lay aside glasses, which I had worn for ten years. Since early in 1914 Christian Science has been my only physican and has healed every discordant condition which has arisen, whether the problem was mental, physical, or pertaining to business. I have proved in countless ways the healing and protective power of God. I am very grateful for all the healings I have witnessed and experienced, and for the unlocking of the Bible with the Key our Leader, Mrs. Eddy, gave to us. I am grateful for all of her works and for every activity of the Christian Science movement, which she established.

I am grateful for the Christian Science Sentinel, Journal, and Monitor, which come regularly to my home, bringing helpful thoughts of cheer and comfort and giving daily food for thought and practice. I am grateful for membership in The Mother Church and in our local society, and for the privilege of assisting in the work of our organization.—(Mrs.) Jessie P. Andrews, Bishop, Inyo County, California.
