In assuming that all cause and effect are mental, Christian Scientists run no serious risks and encounter no invulnerable obstacles, since they reason logically to this end from the premise that God is the only cause and creator, and they understand Him to be the divine Mind, or, as the Scriptures say, "Spirit," "All in all." The teaching of Christian Science on this point can be no more radical than are the statements of Jesus Christ, who said, "It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing;" "but seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness."
