The Breaking of the Day

I prayed that God would teach me how to pray—To open wide my eyes that I might seeThe full intent of what the Master soughtAlone with God in deep humility.

A Prayer

For this I strive: more wisdom to attain,The wisdom born of Love and Mind, which makesOne able lovingly to guide; to gainMore tenderness of heart, for this it takesTo comfort them that mourn, that hold as realTheir past mistakes or sigh for other years.

Call to Duty

Work without respite,Child of the day,Life has no momentsTo squander away;Hearts are still hungry,Eyes are still blind,Feet are still tryingThe straight path to find.

Cast Out the Beam

THE mote that's in thy brother's eye, And looms so big to thee, Is but the shadow of the beam That dims thy power to see.

As Thou Hast Made

FATHER, who made the earth and heaven, Who guards and guides creation, all, Lead me to recognize Thy realm, Wherein men neither fail nor fall.
How buoyant rises gratitudeFor cherished boon, long sought; For granting of a dear desire,Or blessing in our lot.

Protection

He who guides the seagull's flightHigh above the waters blue,Shall He not, by day and night,Guard and guide and cherish you?

Happy the Man

Happy the man the Eternal has made,Joy is his portion and all unafraid,Reflecting God's beauty and wisdom and might,Heir of all grace in the kingdom of light,He lives as God lives, unhampered and free,Forever at one with the Deity!
