Abiding in Love
Karen Daugherty
Originally published for the Christian Science Sentinel online on December 7, 2023
Not long ago, I was hungering for a clearer sense of God’s presence and care. Reaching out in prayer, I received an answer in the form of the opening stanza of a favorite hymn:
Abide with me; fast breaks the morning light;
Our daystar rises, banishing all night;
Thou art our strength, O Truth that maketh free,
We would unfailingly abide in Thee.
(Bertha H. Woods, Christian Science Hymnal, No. 7)
