Unceasing prayer
Jack Schaberg
Unceasing prayer is the demand,
Required by events at hand.
Ascending such a daunting hill,
The climb of which bests human will,
Starts with small steps, each firm and sure,
Made so by thoughts serene and pure.
Fueled by the Life we know as God,
Whose love for us is deep and broad,
We tread the pathway undefiled
As His likeness, God’s perfect child.
And as we rise, we conquer fear;
We feel Thy presence ever near.
The summit reached, God’s goodness nigh,
His allness clear as the blue sky,
Brings peace within, fear releasing,
With duty done through prayer unceasing.
