Renewed love for Christian Science
At the age of ten I first learned about Christian Science. And it was a wonderful revelation for me at ten years old to realize that God was right with me, and not way up in the sky somewhere.
At the time, my family had broken up, and I went to stay for several months with distant relatives who were Christian Scientists. During those months I really felt God’s love right with me, and I had several healings through prayer in Christian Science. Two examples: my vision improved, and I was healed of a fever. These healings left an enduring impression on me.
When I was in my late teens, my family broke up once again. Now, both my mother and I turned to Christian Science. And that assurance of God’s healing love that I’d had at ten years old was now reawakened within me. From then on both my mother’s goal and mine were to learn more and more of this love of God, and see it evidenced in our lives. We both joined the local branch Church of Christ, Scientist, and in just a few years we each took Christian Science class instruction. We were now on our way to putting into practice our love for God and for others. I remember some of our first demonstrations of Christian Science and some healings we experienced.
