It’s one of those big questions we tend to quietly keep to ourselves. Yet, in unsettled or dangerous times, it resurfaces and we yearn for an answer: Is God really governing? Is He in control? What prompts the question may be some personal hardship we’re going through—a struggle with ill health or the loss of a job. It may be reports in the news of conflict or tragedy in the world. We naturally wonder, How can a good and loving God be in control when there’s so much suffering and injustice? The professional lives of our guests have brought them face to face with this issue. Finding an answer hasn’t always been easy for them. They’ve grappled with it. But they’ve come to some firm conclusions based on what they feel is proof of God’s control.
