So often, Father, I have given thanksFor understanding better how to pray,For countless blessings: healings, lessons learned,The times of listening that revealed Your way;Oh, now my heart is singing gratitude!Today, in demonstration, I can seeThat although I, through love, have chosen You,You first, dear Father Love, had chosen me.

TRUE PERSPECTIVE

The whole world is my family!No tight-knit possessive corecold-shouldering the rest:but circumference of universal thoughtincluding these—and these—and these peoplesof far-flung empires.

ALL THINGS NEW

Now I can see that all things are new!The leaves for the healing of nationsglow in the morning dew.

A millstone or a milestone,Which shall it be?

BARTIMAEUS

Blind Bartimaeus, pitifully cryingFor mercy, did not shrink nor lose his poise,But cried the more in steadfastly defyingThe grumbling crowd's demand to make less noise.

THE PATH OF LIGHT

"Grief's pathis yours.

NEVER BORN

Never born—what worlds of woemelt at those words! No blinding flowof desperate tears of sharp regretneed drown your hope of good.

AN USHER'S PRAYER

Help them to leave their burdensAt the door,They who are bowed beneath a heavy loadOf care, of fear, or pain.

SECURITY

I am the image of God's pure serenityAnd in His wholeness I ever find rest.
