To defend our Cause 

It was the Fourth of July, 1886, and Mary Baker Eddy rose to speak extemporaneously to the Sunday congregation at Chickering Hall in Boston.
When I found Science and Health, I was so hungry for an understanding of God that I couldn’t put the book down. 
It’s crucial to let the light of spiritual understanding illumine the boundlessly beautiful environment of Spirit always at hand.
“It’s time,” writes this author, “to ‘stick with love’—with the courage to have our ignorance, our unjust thoughts and actions, and our fears uncovered and overcome by divine Love, which forgives and heals mankind. In doing so, we can do our part in helping to lift the curse of racial prejudice from the human race.”

The joy set before us 

Spiritual joy, with its sole source being God, is perpetual, flowing on through even our most challenging times.

Getting to the goal 

Divine Love impels the movement of spiritual thinkers in the way of Truth. God’s power gets us to the goal.
We, too, may want to focus more on the simple question, “What am I hearing God saying to me today?”
Humility can replace both self-effacement and self-promotion with unselfed love for all, including ourselves.

The quiet gift 

God’s gift of the Christ, Truth, is the one gift every person can receive—and share.
Jesus’ sinless, unconditional love for others was an expression of the divine Principle, Love, that redeems human character from impurity and disease to purity and health.
