Our critic refers to Christian Scientists as heretics.
A critic in one of our liberal religious papers recently published the statement that the Christian Science movement places its chief emphasis upon bodily healing.
Our critic thinks that Christian Scientists are not Christians because they deny the reality of sin, and yet it is this very denial that makes them Christians, for this teaching is in accord with the teachings of Jesus, who describes the devil as "a liar, and the father of it.
I am very far from anxious to involve myself in a controversy on any subject, but in the article in your last issue you ask me a definite question, and to that question I am perfectly willing to reply.
The natural sciences are built upon theories which, however accurate they may appear to be, are not too susceptible of proof.
On the whole that broadside of views in last week's Zion's Herald with regard to Christian Science was perhaps more favorable to the cult than the editor anticipated it would be when he asked a number of ministers to respond to this query: "Is there anything in Christian Science which Christian ministers should recognize and utilize?
