The statement of a clergyman in a recent sermon that a study of the Bible would keep men away from such errors as Christian Science, etc.
A clergyman, as reported, says Mrs.
Christ Jesus said that John the Baptist was "a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
It is cheerfully admitted that Christian Scientists may look upon various vital questions quite differently from our friend.
Christian Scientists will agree with your contributor in regarding evil as "an evidence of want of harmony in development," and also in his statement that "if the existence of evil is recognized, it postpones indefinitely the hope of the perfection of society," but they join issue with him in his assertion that in Christian Science is to be seen "an impudent attempt to ignore the fact of evil.
