Age-defying healings
I am a lifelong student of Christian Science and have had many wonderful healings. About five years ago, I moved to a retirement community, where the preoccupation with getting older often feels somber and depressing. Yet, through reliance on Christian Science, I have since had three healings of conditions that are popularly assumed to be natural physical degradations connected with age.
During a routine eye exam not long after the move, the optometrist told me he saw early symptoms of macular degeneration. He told me that this affliction was quite normal in older people and that there was no cure but that certain vitamins and changes in diet might slow the disease.
Over the next few days, I pondered using those material methods. Then, I recalled a healing of chronic back pain I had had several years earlier. (The healing was published in the November 5, 2007, Sentinel.) That healing had helped me realize the falsity of the assumption that the body, or matter, deteriorates as we grow older.
