Thankful for two healings
I am very grateful for two healings I had during the past couple of years. It was an understanding of Christian Science, gained through my study of the Bible and of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, that brought them about. The first one came as I finished reading Science and Health all the way through for the second time.
I was in the middle of reading the last chapter, “Fruitage,” which consists of testimonies from people who were healed by reading the book, and I found I could read just fine without my glasses. As I was wondering how this had happened, it dawned on me that many of the accounts include a healing of eyesight—sometimes mentioned almost as an afterthought following the writer talking about their spiritual growth. I believe that these accounts helped me to realize that I, too, could be healed.
The other healing occurred after my nose started bleeding profusely. The bleeding went on for a while, and I became afraid that this situation would be fatal—a startling thought! I finally turned away from the fear and went trustingly to God in prayer with all my heart, feeling that He was caring for me right then. The bleeding stopped.
