Freedom from sickness and injury
A recent experience showed me the effectiveness of turning to God, Truth, for healing. By applying what I’ve learned in my study of Christian Science, I realized that the nature of the experience was truly that of a dream and that I needed only to wake up from it.
One morning my husband was experiencing flu-like symptoms and requested that I pray for him. I acknowledged the presence and power, right at that moment, of Spirit, God, who gives us divine energy and newness of life. The following day, my husband was well—but I now had flu-like symptoms.
I had heard on the news that the number of Covid cases was growing again and that people in my age demographic were significantly impacted. I denied that there was any reality in this on the basis of the truths of Christian Science: that God, good, did not create disease and that we are God’s creation and cannot be subject to anything not created by God. I continued to pray, but after a day did not appear to be improving. My husband suggested that I reflect on the ideas that had brought about his healing a couple of days earlier, adding, “Rise up and walk with me.” I accepted his inspiring challenge and dressed to go for a walk with him.
