Cold symptoms gone
I am grateful for the healing of a cold I had while caring for my grandson. One Monday morning a colleague told me that over the weekend her family had been passing around a cold from one member to another and that now she had it. For the next three days at work, she continued to experience symptoms, and I prayed to understand the ever-presence of health as an expression of God, Love. Then, on Thursday morning I began having cold symptoms myself.
My husband and I were caring for our toddler grandson that day and the next. His mother, my stepdaughter, was out of town until Friday afternoon, and then the two of them were scheduled to fly to Hawaii for a week’s vacation with friends. I began to fear that I would pass the cold on to my grandson and interfere with their trip.
I texted a Christian Science practitioner, asking her to pray for me. Her response included insights from that week’s Bible Lesson (found in the Christian Science Quarterly) showing that man and woman, created in God’s image, have dignity and dominion that nothing can hide. These and other ideas she shared reassured me that, as God’s expression, I could spread only goodness, joy, love, health, and true thoughts, and that I was doing so at that moment.
