Thyroid dysfunction overcome
About two years ago, I started having problems with severely itchy skin. When the condition didn’t immediately yield to prayer, I turned to a doctor for help and was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, which changed to hypothyroidism after a few months. I was told that the dysfunction was incurable and that I would have to take medication for the rest of my life.
I felt dejected, forced to do something I didn’t want to do. And because I suddenly gained a lot of weight, people who knew me bombarded me with questions about what had happened to me. Then, to my surprise, I discovered that several women I knew were suffering from the same condition.
I refused to accept the medical verdict as absolute and began searching JSH-Online.com for healings of hypothyroidism through prayer in Christian Science. With joy I found that there were many. This gave me hope, and I plunged into deeper study of the Bible and of Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. I prayed to get a clearer understanding of what truly governs the body and of my own identity as a spiritual idea in divine Mind, or God, always healthy and complete, never needing drugs to function properly.
