I have given the name to all the Christian Science periodicals. The first was The Christian Science Journal, designed to put on record the divine Science of Truth; the second I entitled Sentinel, intended to hold guard over Truth, Life, and Love; the third, Der Herold der Christian Science, to proclaim the universal activity and availability of Truth; the next I named Monitor, to spread undivided the Science that operates unspent. The object of the Monitor is to injure no man, but to bless all mankind.

Why publish testimonies in the Christian Science magazines?
Testimonies of healing are a heartfelt thank you to God, and they encourage readers who are seeking healing. Looking over the testimonies in this magazine, you can see how people are living the Science of Christ in a wide variety of experiences, especially in the solving of health problems.
Mary Baker Eddy wrote a Manual By-Law called “Testimonials” that tells why testimonies are in this and the other Christian Science magazines. She says: “Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important. More than a mere rehearsal of blessings, it scales the pinnacle of praise and illustrates the demonstration of Christ, ‘who healeth all thy diseases’ (Psalm 103:3)” (Manual of The Mother Church, p. 47).
A testimony of healing is part of the record that Christ is the Savior of humanity today, as much so as when Christ Jesus healed so many people. Every Christian Science healing shows clearly that Christ, Truth, is freeing human thought of its strongly held beliefs in sin and sickness. Christ does this by increasing our love for Spirit, God. This is news worth telling and praising. If you have a testimony of Christian Science healing, the pages of this magazine are a fitting and welcome place to share it. And we thank you in advance!
