Nurturing morality
This past year I found myself becoming increasingly concerned about the lack of morality in society in general. I knew I really needed to pray about this issue when I heard a reporter on national television begin a statement with “Since morals don’t matter anymore ….” In my work with Child Protective Services, I see how much morals do matter. They matter a great deal.
In my work with Child Protective Services, I see how much morals do matter.
I work as a liaison between many local and national agencies and a group of volunteers who work to combat the sexual exploitation of minors. I also volunteer at a residential center for juveniles who are unable to be cared for by their biological families. We see a lack of morals resulting in children getting hurt physically, emotionally, and spiritually. While my involvement in Child Protective Services has great value, as a Christian Scientist I’ve found that of utmost importance is the daily prayer I give the issue of child protection.
