Knee trouble gone

In late June 2013, I began to have pain in my right knee whenever I moved after being still for a while. That made me limp a little, though I could still function more or less normally. I prayed about this almost every day. However, I was often tempted to wonder what caused the condition. Had I twisted or bumped my knee, or was it “just old age”? This last thought was the most tenacious.

I worked metaphysically to handle each of these suggested causes with truths from Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. She tells us, “Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God’s unerring direction and thus bring out harmony” (p. 424). She also writes, “Immortality, exempt from age or decay, has a glory of its own,—the radiance of Soul” (Science and Health, p. 247).

These statements were reassuring, but some pain remained, and I was still limping a month later. Then one day, after doing several hours of yard work, I noticed the pain had “moved” from my right knee to my left hip. I actually laughed out loud, realizing how preposterous this was.
