Don't let fear stop you from sharing
Every week Christian Science churches all around the world hold a testimony meeting. The public is welcome, and at each of these meetings Christian Scientists share testimonies of healings that they themselves have experienced. Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of Christian Science, quotes St. Paul in telling us, “Glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s” (I Corinthians 6:20). And she adds: “Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important” (Church Manual, p. 47).
In some cases, few testimonies are given in these meetings. Why is this, one might ask? Has God reduced the healings and blessings that He provides? No! How could an all-loving God ever hold back any part of the love that He has for His children? So what is it that seems to be keeping some of us glued to our seats in these testimony meetings instead of springing to our feet?
For many years I struggled with public speaking.
