BURNED HAND QUICKLY HEALED THROUGH PRAYER
Earlier this year, my son was having trouble with his washing machine. Needless to say Mum then took all the washing for a few days until it was fixed. This resulted in a lot of ironing, which I also did.
One morning after I had been ironing for about a half hour, my steam iron needed to be refilled with water. I sat the iron on its end in a safe position and proceeded to pour the water into the correct place in the iron with my right hand. Then, in order to steady the iron further, I wrapped my left hand around the bottom of the iron without thinking, so that it touched the whole of the palm of my hand. The burn was very painful.
As a Christian Scientist I was used to dealing spiritually with challenges of every kind through prayer, including physical ones. Just before starting to iron that morning, I had studied the weekly Bible Lesson found in the Christian Science Quarterly. The Lesson of that week was titled "Man" and had inspired me to think about my spiritual perfection as a child of God.
