FREEDOM FROM BACK PAIN AND WALKING DIFFICULTY
In the spring of 2005, I was to attend two events that would involve a significant amount of walking and standing. These activities—a four-day convention, and a two-day racing event—were taking place within a week of each other.
Prior to this, I had begun an exercise program at a gym to maintain weight and build muscle. Since the '70s, I had also been jogging to stay "in shape." But standing for an extended period of time had never been comfortable for me because of persistent back pain.
During the convention, I experienced more discomfort than I ever had before, and sought every opportunity to sit down. Then, during the race weekend activities, I noticed that in addition to the severe pain in my back, my left leg was not functioning properly.
