Some time after I began to study Christian Science, boils appeared on my right leg. Sometimes the pain would be intense. I asked a Christian Science practitioner to pray with me. I continued to study Science and Health. At first I thought I needed to suffer to purify my being, but through my study I learned that purification and spiritual progress did not need to come through suffering. I continued to study and to pray, feeling that I could experience better health. Gradually the inflammation receded, and the boils were eliminated. There was a complete healing.

I tried to turn completely to God in prayer, thinking about His love for all His children.
