A pure antidote

When I Was A Preschooler, I was quickly healed of fatal poisoning. While playing in the garden with my baby sister, we drank from green bottles that we thought were 7-Up bottles, but actually were containers of rodent poison.

Our parents were beside themselves with fear when they saw what had happened. They rushed us to the hospital in an ambulance—at which point both my sister and I were unconscious. The doctors pumped our stomachs. However, they predicted that my sister would die within hours, and that, although I might live, I would never eat normally again because my digestive system had been so damaged. When my parents heard this, they turned to God with all their hearts. And they called a Christian Science practitioner to pray for my sister and me.

The practitioner's first response was to assure my frightened parents of Jesus' promise that "if [you] drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt [you]" (Mark 16:18). She agreed to begin praying immediately.
