CHILD HEALED OF DIABETES

When I began school, a local doctor diagnosed me as having diabetes in the last stages. A specialist in this field confirmed the diagnosis, telling my parents I could not possibly live more than two or three weeks. After these two men left, I remember my parents' discussing what steps to take. My parents were not yet members of the Church of Christ, Scientist, but they had seen the healing effects of prayer and Christian Science treatment. I was asked if I wanted to take the medicine prescribed, or if I would like to let God take care of me. I felt confident in His love for me.

A Christian Science practitioner prayed with us. At the request of the doctors, my mother took me to be tested each week. The first week the doctors couldn't understand why the symptoms had not become worse; at the end of the second week they were simply astounded at my progress; and a week later they dismissed me as completely free of all symptoms. The healing, which took place over seven decades ago, has been permanent.
