Interest in the mind/body connection has come a great distance over the last twenty years. What was once considered folklore by much of the medical profession is now seen as a legitimate factor in matters of health. The kinds of questions being asked by researchers and other thinkers have shifted from "Is there a connection between mind and body?" to "How does this connection influence health?"

The Christian Science Sentinel has been watching this evolution, and we are pleased to provide this special reprint focusing on the mind/body connection and the future of medicine. We hope these articles and examples will enlarge your understanding of the practicality of prayer in healing, encourage your further exploration of the topic, and fuel your determination to prove it for yourself—controlling your own health through spiritual thinking.

Knowing yourself spiritually is truly the medicine of the future. And yet, as these articles and testimonies indicate, a purely spiritual approach to curing all kinds of ailments isn't actually new. Such healing has been taking place for a long time now.
