Infection cured
About a year ago I woke one morning with all the symptoms of a nasty infection. I had experienced the same condition previously, and had wanted very much to heal it through prayer. I knew at the time that I should enlist the aid of a Christian Science practitioner, but never having worked with a practitioner, I resisted this idea. Then one day I heard in a radio commercial that if this particular infection were not treated promptly, permanent kidney damage could result. I was very frightened, and sought medical treatment. The infection did clear up, but I felt I was truly in a worse place than before. I had not been humble enough to call for help from the practitioner, and instead of handling the fear, I had caved in to it. I knew I needed to overcome whatever thoughts had prevented me from calling a practitioner.
So here I was again confronting the same infection. This time I had a firm resolve to conquer the notion of disease through prayer. I called a practitioner, who agreed to see me the following day.
After ascertaining that I was not relying on medical treatment, she agreed to help. She told me that this problem was powerless to impose itself, and that it was no part of my being. She asked me to think about the idea of my own purity.
