Q A

Q What do Christian Scientists do in cases of broken bones?

A There are many documented accounts of the setting and mending of broken bones solely through prayer in Christian Science. Some choose to use the services of a surgeon to set the bone and then rely on Christian Science treatment for the healing.

Q What do you do in the case of communicable disease?

A Christian Scientists have a long record of cooperation with public health officials. They are careful to report symptoms of contagious or infectious disease, when required, and to observe rules of quarantine.

Q What about vaccinating your children?

A If vaccination is compulsory, Christian Scientists see that this is done. They recognize, however, that genuine, permanent immunity from disease lies in an understanding of and trust in God's laws and freedom from the fear of disease.

Mary Baker Eddy founded the Church of Christ, Scientist, "... to commemorate the word and works of our Master, which should reinstate primitive Christianity and its lost element of healing."
