I read this question in a recent Sentinel: "Do you have healing experiences to offer because of the gratitude you feel for God and His goodness?" I had often thought of submitting a testimony but never did. Upon reading the question this time, I felt compelled to express my gratitude for the truth of God and His perfect man.
I had been taking an exercise class, something I enjoy doing, when suddenly I had great pain and difficulty in moving. The instructor was very concerned and wanted me to go across the street to visit a doctor's office. I told her I did not elect to do that and assured her that I could make it home on my own. Once in the car, however, I began having trouble driving because of the pain. Praying to God, I found the ability to get home.
Yet, my condition worsened. I had two small children to care for but had to remain in bed. My husband rushed home and immediately requested that I see a doctor. None was available at that time, and I said I wanted to rely on Christian Science for healing. Because he is not a student of Christian Science, he was reluctant about this; his concern added to my anxiety. Could I demonstrate healing through prayer? Who was going to take care of our children, since I could not move?
