I was eight years old when my parents decided to "try" Christian Science on the advice of a doctor. I had suffered from bronchial asthma from infancy, and my mother had been taking me to the hospital for shots every week. The specialist who treated me had recommended my tonsils and adenoids be removed, which was done. None of the above helped me.

At this point, the specialist told my mother about Christian Science because he had witnessed several healings through Science. My parents got in touch with a Christian Science practitioner. The practitioner prayed for me and asked us to study the ninety-first Psalm, which we did. Before long we were studying the teachings of Christian Science and learning to rely on God for all our needs, and gradually I was completely healed of the asthma.

Our whole family feels very grateful for having Christian Science as our way of life. There were many healings while I was growing up. One time my younger sister jumped from a chair onto an opened can, which badly cut her toe. My mother washed the toe, bandaged it, and called a friend who lived nearby who was a Christian Scientist. She came to our house and talked with us, assuring us of God's love and care. Within an hour, my sister was healed, jumping around on both feet. She had no more trouble with the toe.
