In 1984 and 1985 I suffered daily with headaches and with neck, shoulder, and back pain so severe that at times I left work in tears. I went from one doctor to another—a total of five in all—and none of them could tell me what was causing all the symptoms, nor could they help me. Over a period of one year I had many X-rays taken and was given eight different prescription drugs, but I was getting no better.

Not knowing what else to do, I sat down one day and talked with a co-worker who is a Christian Scientist, and that day my whole life changed. She answered all my questions and suggested that I talk with a Christian Science practitioner.

I made an appointment and spent an hour talking with a loving practitioner who agreed to work with me through prayer. I discarded all the prescription medication. Next I visited the nearest Christian Science Reading Room, bought a copy of Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and immediately began reading. By the time I had read the book completely, all pain was gone. I felt like a new person! I was a new person!
