Face the small things and heal them!
Some challenges can look less imposing than others. But the spiritual victories we win are never small.
I used to resent and neglect them—the small discords, that is. Then one morning I woke up with a bad headache. When I thought of all the work I had to do that day, I felt worse. Then I got angry. "Why should I have to deal with a headache when there are so many more important things?"
I lay in bed awhile, complaining and trying to pray at the same time. At some point, the praying, the asking God for help, began to outweigh the complaining. My prayer was simple: "God, what do I need to see? What should I do?"
His answer was just as simple: "Be willing."
