How can I decide?
It's tough enough to make decisions. But how do we make decisions that won't hurt others?
"What should I do?" Whether we have to decide about a job or a home or how to act in a difficult situation, we can usually get plenty of advice about what to do.
But where can we find a truly trustworthy answer? How do we turn from anxious thought, even panic, and be quiet? The best counsel is found in the Psalms: "Be still, and know that I am God." Ps. 46:10. When we still anxiety by recognizing God's power, we open our thought to hear what God is telling us.
God is infinite intelligence, the one Mind—present everywhere. Can we be beyond His loving care for us? The Bible makes the answer clear by showing us who we really are and what our heritage is. Man is created in God's likeness. Can His likeness be confused or lacking in intelligence? No—but we need to understand what it means to be that likeness. Since God created all, as the Bible says, whatever is needed exists already in divine Life, and man in God's likeness reflects and expresses all-inclusive Life, or Mind. To bring out this spiritual fact in our daily lives, however, we must purify our motives, so that our thought and life are like the pure crystal facets that reflect light. As we do this, we express more of God's intelligence and might, and we perceive the answers we need.
