One family under God
Is it possible to think of all humanity as one harmonious family? So often we focus on the divisions among us: national, racial, cultural, linguistic. But there's a rich blessing in store as we lessen the importance of differences and discover the spiritual reality that unites us.
The great unifier of mankind is the spiritual fact that God is the creator of all. In the Bible we read, "Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us?" Mal. 2:10.
To discern our common heritage as children of God, we need to understand the nature of our divine Father-Mother. What, exactly, is the nature of Deity? The Scriptures describe God as Spirit, everywhere present. The New Testament in particular tells us that divine Spirit is good and gracious, loving and pure, powerful and irresistible.
