I am happy to testify to the healing efficacy of Christian Science. In 1968 I was a cattle and grain rancher in Idaho. One day that fall I was using a very concentrated insecticide (a normal practice on ranches in the western United States at that time of year), when I spilled the entire gallon can of the mixture on my clothes. I was very busy and did not change for several hours. A few weeks later, I began bleeding internally.

As a child I had attended a Christian Science Sunday School. All during that time and in the years afterward I depended on God, through what I learned of Him in Christian Science, for meeting any kind of need. And my needs were always met.

This time, though, I was pressured by close relatives to have medical treatment. I soon came to believe that this situation was different from others I had faced and healed in the past through Christian Science alone, and that the answer was to be found in material medicine. I agreed to have medical treatment and, before long, I was receiving daily blood transfusions. After three months of treatment at two prominent medical facilities, I was told that I had contracted a type of leukemia and should go home to die peacefully.
